Missions essentielles


The main focus of your role will be to ensure that your department is safely and efficiently producing quality malt at First Time Right target, in line with the agreed production plan.

You will continuously monitor and optimise the efficiency of the operational performance and monitor the overall environment to ensure that all activities comply with HAACP, GMP, and quality requirements.

A safe working environment is essential at all times, and as such you will actively promote a positive SHE culture throughout the site and adherence to procedures throughout.


Your main tasks will be:
Planning & Organisation

  • Evaluates each stage of the Production Plant processes to maintain optimum efficiency, safety and quality
  • Taking responsibility for monitoring and reporting of KPI's, focusing on safety, quality, delivery, costs, energy, waste and analysis leading to improvement actions
  • Agreeing production plan, establishes priorities, monitors progress, revises schedules (as/when required) and resolves problems that may impact on the OTIF delivery of the Production Plan
  • Evaluating each stage of the production process to maintain optimum efficiency and identifies opportunities for improvement
  • Producing batches and delivers blends of products to meet customer requirements
  • Ensuring that all activities required to produce malt are compliant with the SHE site rules & food safety rules.
  • Be a leader for continuous improvement in malt quality through developing a comprehensive knowledge of the process and fully understanding the key characteristics & potential in the raw material.
  • Build strong relationships with our customers to fully understand their product specification and service requirements from a technical and operational perspective.
  • Ensure that raw material selection, processing of product and planning are lean (zero waste)
  • Undertake root cause analysis of any out of standard/target result and recommend effective corrective & preventive actions to avoid re occurrence
  • Ensure that the activities on site never exceed our environmental impact consent levels and ensure our production is always in accordance with our stated CSR/sustainability ambition.

Team management and development:

  • Conducts monthly 121's with team members, provides and listens to feedback, documents main discussion points, agrees and facilitates opportunities for development / improvement
  • Provide development for and mentor team members so that they are able to achieve company goals by communicating expectations, planning, monitoring, and evaluating job results
  • Effective communication with the team to ensure clear understanding of the business values, goals, and extending the collaborative working culture
  • Train, develop and mentor team members so that they are able to achieve company and personal goals by communicating expectations, planning, monitoring, and evaluating job results
  • Supports the investigation process and takes lead in disciplinary matters when required.
Profil / Compétences requises Master recherché

For this role we are looking for someone with a passion for bio engineering and food production processes. By preference you have a first knowledge or experience in malting; or high interest to learn more about it.

  • You have aProfessional Bachelor and /or post High-School education in Engineering, Bio-Chemical Engineering, Agronomic / Agricultural Sciences, Engineering, or equal by experience
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in supervisory roles within the operations area of a food business related industry
  • You have knowledge of and experience in the production process in the food industry
  • You challenge the status qua and enjoy looking for continuous improvement
  • You speak and write Fluent Dutch
  • Competent in the use of MS Office especially MS Excel.
  • You are flexible for after hour calls and periodic weekends on call
