:


Proton therapy centre PARTICLE is an interuniversity project of UZ Leuven, KU Leuven, Cliniques universitaires Saint-Luc and UC Louvain, co-supported by UZ Gent, UZ Brussel, CHU UCL Namur and UZA.


The centre is located at the Gasthuisberg Health Sciences Campus and architecturally and organisationally forms an integral part of UZ Leuven's accredited radiotherapy-oncology department.

The centre has two bunkers with their own particle accelerator for both clinical and preclinical research.


To strengthen our team we're looking for a research assistant who can coordinate and follow up the proton therapy research programme.

This position involves a 50% appointment that may be combined, if necessary, with a 50% appointment to coordinate the clinical section of the proton therapy centre


How will you push boundaries?
:


  • You help to prospect for possible financing alternatives for proton therapy research projects.
  • You contribute to the interim and final scientific reports of grants.
  • You support the reporting of the progress of research projects and spending of allocated funds.
  • You follow the latest developments in the field of proton therapy through literature review.

What do you need?**:


  • You have a university degree, preferably in (bio)medical sciences or health sciences or you have a master's in engineering or applied sciences with relevant experience in a medical context. A PhD is an added value.
  • You have a number of years of relevant experience, and preferably also research experience.
  • You're flexible and are able to work well in a multidisciplinary team.
  • You have strong communicative and interpersonal skills.
  • You're sufficiently assertive and pay attention to diplomacy and integrity.
  • You're analytical and conceptually strong.
  • You can work autonomously, have a sense of initiative and are solution
- and result-oriented.

  • You're stress resistant and know how to prioritise, plan and organise your work well.
  • You have a good oral and written knowledge of Dutch, French and English.
