The purpose of the Center of Expertise Communications, Brand and MarCom is to help ING Belgium win the trust and admiration of all our key stakeholders and be the most appealing banking partner for those who want to make a difference for people and planet.


The team


Driven by a multidisciplinary team of enthusiastic and seasoned internal, external and event colleagues, the Communication team generates trust and belief in ING Belgium's strategic direction.

This by sharing the proven impact we make for our customer, our colleagues and society at large.


Roles and responsibilities

  • As Senior Communication Expert within the Communication Team, you will be a key partner and advisor to senior leadership.
  • You will contribute to:
  • Translating ING Belgium's strategy into inspirational stories for our employees, clients and public at large to enhance brand consideration and reinforce ambassadorship
  • Building trustful relationship with our (media / external) stakeholders
  • Creating superior leadership and employee experiences to make them feel connected, and purposeful in order to drive organisational performance.
  • Coaching and guide leadership and business colleagues at large in their communications
  • You will work closely with the communications expert in the different business lines and ensure consistency and alignment.

We are looking for you.


You are a versatile communications professional with a passion for thinking and doing and have earned your stripes in the profession.

You have a clear vision of how to use internal and external communication to support the Communication's strategy. You are seen by others as a true expert and appreciated for your clear communication advice and drive.

With your creativity and analytical mind, you contribute to the improvement of ING Belgium's internal and external communication. You have proven experience in and affinity with advising senior management in a business environment. You are an example of the ING culture (Orange Code) and recognize yourself in the corresponding behavioural profile.

  • Master's degree preferably in Communications
  • Experience in the area of corporate, internal, external communications, change management, leadership communications, crisis management and reputation management are highly regarded
  • Minimum 10 years of experience
  • Experience building and executing strategic communication plans in complex organisations
  • Excellent command of French, Dutch and English
  • Outstanding oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to take ownership and responsibility
  • Takes initiative and eager to deliver no matter what
  • Ability to work in stressful conditions
  • Highly organized person and have "handson" attitude,
  • Strong analytical skills, and ability to solve high complexity problems
  • Datadriven
  • Team player and collaborative
