You will join an interdisciplinary team of passionate scientists, engineers, clinicians and corporate profiles committed to solving some of the biggest DNA and RNA production challenges facing vaccines and therapeutics.


Quantoom Biosciences has two facilities; the headquarters are based in Nívelles (Belgium), and the France Research Center focusing on offering an end-to-end DNA production platform based in Evry (France).

Due to our expansion within our R&D activities, we are looking to strengthen our working force and we are looking to hire an

_Analytical Services Laboratory Manager_ to drive our analytical services within our Innovation Center located in Evry


MISSION:

The objectives of the

_ Analytical Services Laboratory Manager_ are to
- ensure operational excellence of analytical workflows and deliverables into R&D projects:

  • support Innovation center
- development, review, implementation, and communication for analytical processes into UNVC R&D.
- ensure efficient method development, qualification and routine testing operations, within the perimeter of projects and budgets.
- contribute to building and improving people, systems and procedures of the labs.

  • Manage Technical Services (lab support, maintenance and logistic)to support site operations of the R&D labs: Innovation center and Analytical Services
  • Be the interface for Quality Assurance on the R&D site

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Laboratory Operations
  • Manage on a regular basis the planning of the Analytical Sciences laboratory lab with scientists.
  • Synchronize laboratory activities with Innovation R&D activities/projects.
  • Manage on a continuous basis the analytical throughput of the laboratory, i.e. the progress in the testing of the samples and/or development and validations that are required.
  • Set up or improve tools to visualize and track the daily planning of the operators and the sample management/storage
  • Oversee equipment (re)qualification and preventative maintenance.
  • Make sure that Good Laboratory Practices are managed appropriately: documentation, sample management & storage, equipment uses,
  • Provide and manage lab support activities to the entire organization: media preparation, material cleaning & sterilization,
  • Supervise Lab Maintenance and logistic flows into R&D site

External representation:

  • Support Analytical data and processes: represent analytical sciences in business development, project progress meetings with customers, during audits or other ad hoc internal meetings.
  • Team Leadership
  • Act as the direct line responsible for (Senior) Technicians, (Senior) Scientists and Technical Support team (maintenance and logistic). This includes responsibility for evaluations, defining objectives in line with departmental objectives. Make proposals to for recruitment of new staff and/or career development of existing staff.
  • Act as coach and soundboard for Lab Technicians and scientists, making sure they can execute their operational duties efficiently.
  • Train and guide Technicians and Scientists in matters that relate to lab operations. Establish the training plan for Technicians and Scientists.
  • Make sure transversal processes are in place for all (equipment follow up, order and reception flows).
  • Quality & Innovation
  • Actively contribute to developing the quality systems within the laboratory.
  • Participate in continuous improvement by suggesting new processes or procedures to meet compliance objectives and improve efficiency.
  • Contribute actively to innovation by looking out for relevant technological innovations and their evaluation or implementation.
  • Contribute actively to business cases to support the implementation of new methods, analytical technologies, or other infrastructure.
  • HSE
  • Promote EHS Policy and continuous improvement within teams.
  • Be sure rules and instructions in regards of EHS are respected

REQUIREMENTS - QUALIFICATIONS:


  • Advanced degree in life sciences / chemistry / chemical or bio engineering (MSc or PhD), or equivalent, with the required skills, knowledge and abilities that are typically acquired through experience in a biopharmaceutical manufacturing environment.
  • At least 5 years of experience in a R&D &/OR GMP quality control lab environment focusing on analytics of biomolecules.
  • At least 4 years in a line management role
