Telenet is looking for an Application Specialist

Telenet is the leading Telco provider in Flanders with a portfolio of 3M clients in internet, telephone, mobile and digital television.

The company is organized in an agile lay-out with major units (called "tribes"), composed of "squads".

Working in the Product Journey Tribe:
The Network Design Tooling squad is part of the Product Journey tribe at Telenet.

On a daily basis, the Application Specialist works closely together with his/her peer in the Network Design Tooling squad (team of 10 GIS experts and 5 testers) and our external development partner (13 people).

Also outside the squad, interaction with a lot of other squads and business stakeholders will be part of the daily job.

Your tasks as an Application Specialist:

He/she is able to understand the bigger picture, estimate the development effort (sprint planning), and able to deliver high standard software taking into account not only the requirements and needs from the own squad, but also towards the interface partners.

He also ensures that defects within the area of new developments are handled properly.

It is essential that the API.NET developer has knowledge about security aspects, high available architectural setups and is able to work with complex data models.

Local presence is essential to be able to attend whiteboard and brainstorm sessions for future releases and features.

He/She also attends broader end-to-end sessions within and outside the squad to support the Product Owner and Functional analyst from a tester's perspective.

In this respect, it is vital to speak fluently Dutch and English.

Our ideal Application Specialist:

We are looking for a T-shaped profile, with a specialization in API.NET development.
Somebody with GIS experience and analytical mind, who is willing to commit for a long-term engagement.

Experience in business-IT alignment and capable of translating business requirements into design components that eventually find a fit in supporting business processes.

Concretely, this person will have end-to-end responsibility over several API's.
Knowledge of the GIS world of the Merkator tooling is a plus but is not a show stopper.

It is essential that the API.NET developer/Application Specialist has knowledge about security aspects, high available architectural setups and is able to work with complex data models.

It is vital to speak fluently Dutch and English.
