Job Summary:


We are looking for an agile and passionate public policy and government relations leader who will further develop our EU stakeholder relations and craft and implement public affairs strategies at the EU level.

This role requires an expert who develops and implements an EU regulations specific public affairs strategy in alignment with the organization's objectives.

You will be a part of an amazing global corporate affairs team and have support from colleagues of different backgrounds and profiles.

The position, being based in Brussels, Belgium, will report to Director Public Affairs and Government Relations, Europe and Americas.


What you will do:


  • Plan, direct, and monitor regulatory development, assess their potential impacts, elevate issues and propose/initiate advocacy measures as appropriate
  • Build, coordinate and sustain relationships with key EU stakeholders (including stakeholder mapping, systematic engagement plans)
  • Develop, coordinate and implement advocacy campaigns aimed at EU institutions, NGOs and other key stakeholders
  • Political communications: High proficiency in developing policy communications (policy papers, speeches, briefings), policy event organisation and management
  • Provide functional/technical expertise and thought leadership on one key policy issues and stakeholder engagement
  • Represent Tetra Pak in industry associations and stakeholder platforms
  • Lead/foster cross functional collaboration internally and externally
  • Ideate and drive development of integrated advocacy communications in close collaboration with our external communications function

We believe you have:


  • Education background: MBA/MSc/MA or equivalent in Communications, Economics, International Relations or Law
  • Min 7 years of experience in advocacy and Public Affairs.
  • Profound understanding of relevant EU public policy objectives, regulation and political/regulatory decisionmaking processes (formal and informal).
  • Experience in European food and beverage industry with distinct advantage if you have packaging industry knowledge
  • Passion and keen interest in sustainability, with particular focus on Food Systems
  • Ability to drive a progressive agenda around EU regulations, including:
  • Able to build close relations with key policy stakeholders, build consensus and find compromise positions where needed, handle difficult situations.
  • Effective monitoring and anticipation of potential regulatory business risks and mitigation
  • Advocacy for all fibrebased packaging relevant policy files in a diplomatic and effective manner
  • Relationships building and partnership development with relevant thinktanks, civil society and other influencers
  • Coordinating policy actions with Public Affairs colleagues in EU Member States
  • Confidence in issue management, government and regulatory affairs.
  • Excellent networking skills
  • Excellent stakeholder management skills, internally as well as externally
  • Team player, composed and articulate with a cando attitude
  • Fluent in English (mothertongue level) and French fluency as advantage
