What you'll do:

Responsibilities:

Through a team of project managers and technical specialists, you will be responsible for the overall planning, direction, coordination, implementation, execution, control and completion of capital projects within your plant or region.

You will ensure consistency with the company strategy, commitments and goals within the Engineering Department.

You will work with the business team and plant manager to identify project alternatives that best fit the needs of the business.

Direct and coordinate the project execution process from the idea stage to final project closure across the global organization.
Direct technical and administrative efforts required to accomplish project deliverables in accordance with the project scope, design concept, design criteria, standard operating procedures, safety, schedule and budget.
Ensure that Safety is the project's highest priority and that the project safety best practices are implemented and followed.
Manage the Global Project Engineering team and provides leadership and coaching to the staff to drive strong performance in the group.
Work very closely with key project stakeholders to ensure that all project teams remain aligned around respective deliverables and goals.
Drive continuous improvement in the development of the engineering, procurement, and construction strategies that follow industry best practices.
Lead and own accountability for the capital plan by detailing the capital projects that will be scoped and executed as part of the Annual Operating Plan. Communicates progress on the plan on a regular basis and drives efforts to makes adjustments when required.
Ensure that detailed project cost and schedule controls are established on every project to track progress and proactively assess and address potential problems.
Work with the key project stakeholders to establish a project management of change procedure for all projects and sees that it is strictly adhered to after project approval.
Ensure that the project execution plan is developed during the frontend process and roles and responsibilities are clearly identified and communicated.
Promote progressive improvements for all project execution processes.

Who we're looking for:

Profile:

You are fluent in English and French (written & oral).
You have at least a master degree in Engineering, and 10 years experience in a similar positions.
You are fluent in English and French (written & oral).
You demonstrate business acumen, effective project management and leadership skills for major capital expenditures in the chemical/manufacturing.
You demonstrate team building skills and the ability to work productively in a cross functional team environment.
You demonstrate influencing, negotiating and diplomacy skills.
You have strong analytical skills.
You are able to multitask, prioritise, and manage time effectively.
You are able to travel as required. (about twice a year).
You are an excellent team player and willing to contribute to the success of a very diverse team.
