Capacity for Nutrition - National Information Platforms for Nutrition (C4N-NIPN) is one of three action areas of the 'Knowledge for Nutrition (K4N)' programme and supports the European Commission (EC), its partners as well as the Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ) with competence and knowledge to strengthen nutrition-related programmes.

Launched in 2015, NIPN is an EC initiative, ((NIPN - National Information Platforms for Nutrition (nipn-nutrition-), which works closely with platforms in nine countries in Asia, Africa and Latin America for better nutrition information systems and improve data analysis for better-informed strategic decisions.

The Global Coordination unit in Brussels, Belgium supports the peer-to-peer learning between the platforms and captures lessons learned from the implementation of the NIPN approach for global dissemination.

We are looking for a Lessons Learned Advisor for Capacity for Nutrition - National Information Platforms for Nutrition (C4N-NIPN) (M/F/d) for our team in Brussels starting 1 April 2023.

The responsibilities of the position include:

Coordinate C4N-NIPN's efforts to capture and document best practices and lessons learned in the implementation of the NIPN approach;
Design capacity development measures related to the NIPN platforms' institutional development and multistakeholder processes in the nutrition data value chain;
Working with the C4N-NIPN country focal points, ensure alignment in global coordination's guidance for strengthening the ownership of the NIPN platforms and facilitating the sustainability of the NIPN approach;
Elaborate Terms of References for consultancy contracts as well as manage consultants' assignments and assess the quality of their services;
Prepare technical input for NIPN publications related to lessons learned and the sustainability of the platforms, such as case studies, articles, presentations and social media, as well as for the overall C4N-NIPN communication strategy;
Support EC engagement in global events and collaboration with relevant partners, particularly with focus on the lessons learned from the NIPN implementation;

Your profile

University degree in nutrition, public health, food and nutrition security, or development studies;
Ideally five years of relevant experience in nutrition in external assistance and/or development cooperation in developing countries, including experience working in governmental bodies, multilateral organisations and/or nongovernmental organisations;
Experience in capacity development on multistakeholder collaboration, data analysis skills and/or communication and advocacy skills,
Experience in enabling peertopeer learning and the development and implementation of learning strategies in partner countries;
Excellent grasp of international and national nutrition governance structures, including familiarity with the process to develop national nutrition strategies and action plans for nutrition and/or research in or evaluation of nutrition programmes;
Excellent verbal and written communication skills and experience in establishing good working relationships with a wide range of stakeholders at national and global levels;
Team orientation, flexibility within a rapidlychanging environment, with a high degree of motivation to achieve results and to deliver goaloriented results on time;
Excellent language skills in English and French (C2), language skills in Spanish and/or German (B2) are an asset.

We offer a time-limited contract from 1 April 2023 until 31 July 2024 with GIZ in Brussels under Belgian law (PC200).

The position will be remunerated according to the level of experience.

In addition to the legal holidays, you will receive 5 extra days of holiday per calendar year, as well as lunch checks, health insurance for hospitalisation and the reimbursement of a monthly ticket for Brussels public transport and the possibility for home office in accordance with our respective policy.
