Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) is an international cooperation enterprise for sustainable development with operations worldwide. GIZ implements complex reform projects and processes of change. Its objective is to improve living conditions for people on a sustainable basis.


As part of the Global Facility on Anti-Money Laundering and Countering the Financing of Terrorism (GF-AML/CFT)"funded by the European Union and co-implemented by GIZ, the Brussels office of GIZ InS is looking for an Administrative and Financial Assistant.


Your Mission:


  • Facilitate information exchange and communication among the Program team members, partners, and other institutions.
  • Provide necessary documentation and information to the project team as well as minutes of meeting.
  • Manage attendance and absence sheets of key experts in accordance with the project's procedure manual.
  • Ensure logistics for workshops, seminars, and training sessions, as well as fact finding missions and professional exchanges.
  • Support the organization of travel arrangements for various experts.
  • Process travel expense claims according to GIZ rules.
  • Manage flight and hotel reservations based on the experts' missions.
  • Manage office supplies and equipment, maintain and update the inventory list.
  • Manage purchases according to current GIZ rules.
  • Execute document filing in paper files or the document management system (DMS) in accordance with GIZ filing rules.
  • Manage the project's cash with an updated cash journal following GIZ procedures.
  • Keep cash and bank books in accordance with GIZ rules.
  • Monitor and process receivables.
  • Support the AV in project budget planning.
  • Support the AV in preparing funding procurement requests.
  • Prepare requests for contracts with consultants and national study offices.
  • Verify the compliance of invoices from national and international experts with the contracts.
  • Manage tracking tables (H/J, incidental expenses, etc.).
  • Inform RMO about missions of international experts.
  • Perform other tasks as instructed by superiors.
  • Liaison with country offices on matters related to experts' contracts
  • Monitoring of nonkey experts contracts and invoices
  • Requesting supporting documentation from the experts (bills, vouchers, timesheets)

Your Profile:


  • Work permit for Belgium
  • A university degree (minimum bachelor's degree) in accounting, economics, administrative management, or a related field.
  • At least 3 years of experience in a similar position, preferably in an international organization.
  • Fluency in English and French.
  • Knowledge of German would be appreciated.
  • Good computer skills: Office (Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint).
  • Ability to work in a team and communicate with different partners.
