Database Architect - Brussels - EU Public Organisations

Key Responsibilities:

Design, develop, and maintain database solutions that meet business requirements and performance objectives.
Collaborate with stakeholders to gather and analyze requirements, and translate them into technical specifications.
Architect and optimize database schemas, tables, indexes, and other database objects for maximum efficiency and performance.
Implement and maintain database security, access controls, and data integrity measures.
Monitor database performance, troubleshoot issues, and implement solutions to ensure high availability and reliability.
Plan and execute database migrations, upgrades, and patches in coordination with system administrators and other stakeholders.
Develop and maintain documentation, including data models, technical specifications, and operational procedures.
Provide technical guidance and mentoring to junior team members, and participate in knowledge sharing activities.

Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
Minimum of 6 years of handson experience in Oracle DBMS and PL/SQL.
Oracle certification (e.g., Oracle Certified Professional) is required.
Strong understanding of database architecture principles, design patterns, and best practices.
Proficiency in performance tuning, query optimization, and troubleshooting database issues.
Experience with database migration, replication, and disaster recovery strategies.
Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver results in a fastpaced, deadlinedriven environment.
Familiarity with other database technologies (e.g., MySQL, SQL Server, PostgreSQL) is a plus.
