We carry out consumer research to understand people's perceptions, views and preferences.

We are a lively, multi-disciplinary, and multi-cultural team of over 20 colleagues, based in the heart of the European Quarter.

Our funding comes from individual food and drink companies, the European Commission, foundations, umbrella organisations and from sales of publications.

Job description
The Food & Health Content Manager is part of EUFIC's Content & Outreach team and will be involved in the development, review, and promotion of understandable and accessible science-based communication materials, and outreach via on
- and offline communication campaigns. This position is required to manage projects/tasks independently, and reports to EUFIC's Content Area Lead.

Key responsibilities

• Producing a variety of different types of sciencebased content covering a wide range of food & healthrelated topics including, nutrition, lifestyle, food safety, food quality, food risk communication, and sustainability

Tasks may include:

• Managing EUFIC's Instagram account, and creating and writing social media content, together with EUFIC's in house graphic designer
• Factchecking/reviewing articles written by external contractors
• Writing articles for the general public
• Ensuring the scientific accuracy of EUFIC content
• Production of videos or podcasts featuring scientific experts
• Supporting with planning and carrying out on

- and offline communication campaigns


Tasks may include:

• Defining KPIs and measuring impact of campaigns
• Engaging with relevant stakeholders, influencers or media to increase reach
• Representing EUFIC and showcasing EUFIC's work at events (conferences, exhibitions, fairs etc)
• Managing interns

Educational requirements, experience and skills

• The successful applicant should have/be:
• A scientific background, with an MSc degree in nutrition, food systems, food safety, food sustainability or a related field.
• 35 years of professional experience in science communication in the fields of food science or nutrition and health, preferably via social media, blogging or other digital outreach tools
• Experience managing and creating content for social media, particularly Instagram
• Fluent in English (written and spoken), and ideally another European language
• Interested in exploring new ways of communicating with the public
• Strong project management and organisation skills
• Proactive and forwardthinking to stay on top of developments in the communication field
• Good interpersonal skills and a team player
• Enthusiastic to working in a dynamic, highly motivated, flexible team

Job conditions

• Fulltime position (38h/week)
• Salary package including a wide range of benefits (e.g. 13th month, holiday pay, pension scheme, health insurance cover, lunch vouchers, phone contract, annual bonus)
• Based in Brussels with the possibility to telework
• Start date: as soon as possible
• Oneyear contract with the possibility to extend
• May involve some European travel
