- Je geeft educatie aan nieuwe patiënten en familieleden en leidt hen op in het leven met een kunsthart.
- Je geeft educatie aan betrokken zorgverleners, zowel intern als extern (verpleegkundigen, zaalartsen, verwijzende cardioloog, huisarts, andere disciplines); opleiding, online overleg, telefonisch, op verplaatsing (bv. huisbezoek)
- Je staat in voor de opvolgconsultaties van patiënten die leven met een kunsthart. Je volgt het toestel en zijn externe componenten op, je voert wond- en parametercontroles uit bij de patiënt.
- Je coördineert de zorg van LVAD patiënten, je fungeert als eerste aanspreekpersoon voor zowel patiënten, familieleden als zorgverleners.
- Je overlegt binnen het team VAD-coördinatoren en neemt deel aan het multidisciplinaire overleg met alle betrokken specialisaties binnen UZ Leuven.
- Je staat in voor administratieve taken (bv. betreffende wetgeving terugbetaling, nodige onderzoeken plannen).
- Je werkt de begeleidende protocollen uit.
- Je staat in voor opvolging, beheer en rapportering van gegevens (database).
- Je overlegt met aanleverende firma's over materialen en meldt problemen.
- Je beschikt over een bachelordiploma of masterdiploma in de verpleegkunde.
- Je werkt voltijds met een aanvullende inschakeling binnen de hospitalisatie-afdeling cardiale heelkunde.
- Je hebt ervaring met of bent bereid je te verdiepen in de betrokken zorgprogramma's.
- Je beschikt over een ruime verpleegkundige deskundigheid en je bent gericht op kwaliteit.
- Je kan een actieve bijdrage leveren in de verpleegteams, werkgroepen, symposia en binnen toegepast wetenschappelijk onderzoek en je bent een team player.
- Je bezit goede communicatieve vaardigheden, kan kennis op een overtuigende manier overdragen en je bent discreet en empathisch ingesteld.

Momenteel zijn we op zoek naar een verpleegkundig consulent Ventricular Assist Devices (VAD). Deze verpleegkundig consulent werkt nauw samen met de verpleegkundig specialist van het VAD-team.
Het betreft een voltijdse functie: halftijdse inschakeling als verpleegkundig consulent en halftijdse inschakeling als verpleegkundige op de afdeling cardiale heelkunde. Binnen je rol als verpleegkundige krijg je meteen een onbepaalde duur contract. De aanstelling als consulent start aan een bepaalde duur van één jaar en wordt voor onbepaalde duur verlengd mits positieve evaluatie.
