    Internship Position

    As a Front-End Developer Intern in the Control & Data Centres Team, the candidate will play a pivotal role in the development of the latest iteration of SPENVIS. To ensure that SPENVIS remains a cutting-edge tool for space environment modelling, the Intern will be working closely with our Team of experienced Engineers and Developers to enhance the User interface, improve Users experience, and implement new features.

    The successful candidate will mainly report to the Control & Data Centres (CDC) Team Lead.

    • Location: Sint-Stevens-Woluwe (Brussels Area)
    • Duration: 4 months at a minimum
    • Start date: As of June 2024

    Tasks and Responsibilities

    • Collaborate with our Team to design and implement intuitive User interfaces for SPENVIS, focusing on usability and functionality
    • Optimise the performance and responsiveness of the front-end application to meet the demands of our users
    • Incorporate feedback from Stakeholders and Users to:
      • Iterate on design improvements
      • Enhance the overall user experience
    • Integrate new simulation models to expand the capabilities of SPENVIS and provide valuable insights into the space environment
    • Contribute to documentation and testing efforts to ensure the reliability and accuracy of SPENVIS features.

    Skills and Experience

    • Enrolled in a Bachelor's or Master's program in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field
    • Proficiency in:
      • Front-end development technologies (e.g. HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript)
      • Modern JavaScript frameworks (e.g. React, Django)
    • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to details
    • Excellent communication and collaboration abilities
    • Passion for space exploration and scientific research
    • Good written and spoken English.
