He Wrote Her On Messenger
The pedicure specialist touched her feet gently. With utmost care. Toenails in awe. Like she was. Skin in love with every movement. She never had a pedicure before done by a man. He was dressed in white. His tan skin celebrated the difference in colors with elegance. Positive and outgoing, his vibration. It made her happy. He listened to her. She kept on talking. About almost everything that occupied her thoughts and feelings. Now and then he smiled. He adored it when clients felt at home in his hands. The scent of the products made her return to the present moment more than once.
He got a sudden phone call. His voice was calm but brief. She noticed how the expression in his face changed. It seemed a serious matter. His eyes went from the left to the right and to the left again. Almost a game of table tennis. It went on and on for minutes. Then he got pale. His eyes showed sadness. His positivity was hijacked by melancholy. She felt his pain. Sensitive as she was. Her feet missed his warm hands. They longed for more touch. The call ended abruptly. He looked at the ceiling.
Patiently she waited. Until his presence returned in the room. He took a white towel and said nothing. Continued the pedicure. The silence was awful. She hoped that he would regain his joyful state of being. He opened his mouth. A voice tried to make sense of what just happened. His words got lost at first. Stumbling. She felt compassion for him. Wanted to hug him. Yet, he was a professional. Giving her a pedicure. Nothing less, nothing more. Then the roles changed. While holding her toes in his warm hands, he opened up and told her his story.
'I am truly sorry', he started the conversation. 'I was talking to my girlfriend', he continued. She felt his pain once again. Then he explained how they met a few months ago. He saw her picture on Facebook and got blown away by her beauty. Then - in an instant where thoughts seemed to be redundant - decided to write her a cute message on Messenger. After 12 days she replied. He remembered it as if it was yesterday. Happy as never before. A man's hunt with successful outcome. At least at the start.
Soon after their first meeting they became lovers. He was in heaven. As if he had met an angel. A sweet being with a love capacity that was hard to find these days. She was in heaven too. Love at first sight. The deeper love. The one you only find in romance novels when you have the patience to go through the whole story. The pedicure continued while the story got longer and longer. She just listened to him. Curious about what made him so sad. The clue was about to come. Her ears became very attentive.
Her horse with the name 'Faith' had to undergo a severe heart surgery. Today at 10:00 am. She was passionate about horse riding. It was her first love. There was almost no hope, yet the vet decided to do one more try. Miracles do exist. Now and then they become reality. She cried on the telephone. Her sadness was contagious. He could not stand it when she was on the other side of the sun. She needed him now. He had to do his pedicure. His clients were waiting for his service. He wished that he could hug her right now, when she needed it most. His sweet little angel.
The clock ticked. With a serious attitude. 10:00 am. Minutes passed. They both looked at each other with a serious expression in their face. His phone rang a second time. First no words on the other side of the phone line. His heart almost stopped beating. Then her voice answered his prayings. 'He made it', she whispered. She cried again but for happiness. He started to cry too. His client followed. They were all crying now. He said that he loved her deeply and then they all smiled. With a happy song he left his client. She called her boyfriend to tell him how much she loved him. He smiled.
