    About the role

    In this role, you will be reporting to the Benelux General Manager and you will be leading the Benelux Sales Team in a brand-new, cluster set-up.

    Key responsibilities

    Lead the Sales function

  • Beyond managing people, effectively lead a diverse team of 15 sales professionals across the area plus a team of 12 Belgium-based pharmacy representatives (reporting dotted line)
  • Live, lead, and deliver in accordance with Haleon's culture of doing the right thing and leadership standards
  • Act as a role-model, inspire, and empower your team
  • Drive a culture of best-in-class performance and continuous learning
  • Reset the base to drive engagement further
  • Successfully implement the new Benelux sales set-up, drive change and successfully keep everyone afloat
  • Drive and execute the Benelux Sales Strategy & Business

  • Lead sales strategy & operations in all related Benelux retail & wholesale sales channels
  • Directly lead Power Customer Business & Key Account Managers (KAM)
  • Delivery on sales, G2M, customer investment and Gross Margin objective
  • Active leader in managing NRM and initiating NRM improvement project
  • Delivery on market share targets
  • Strategic Account Planning & Account Development: to recognize and prioritize key business development opportunities, risks and strategies that will maximize sales and profitability of each of the accounts
  • Execution: Create and execute strategies for category development across accounts, guided by market dynamics, channel segmentation and channel strategy. Oversees alignment to overall channel (and total sales retail channel) customer plans and executes appropriately. Lead identification of new initiatives for implementation.
  • Joint Business Planning: Sets targets in the business planning cycle.Assess and understands key drivers of sales and profit growth. Provide framework for specific activity across portfolio of accounts. In accordance with annual business planning process.
  • Negotiation: Develops customer negotiation strategies and framework, sets negotiation targets for KAM's and drives alignment across the customers, operating to minimize exposure and maximize return.
  • Forecasting: sets high bottom-up forecasting standards for Sales team and follows up closely
  • Cornerstone

  • The Head of Sales Benelux is part of the Benelux Leadership Team
  • Build strong and trust-based relationships with both internal and external stakeholders to maximize synergies across business functions and ultimately our potential
  • First point of contact for the upper level i.e. Norther Europe Business Unit (BU) for insights and input sharing and global sales-related projects including cross-borders sales challenges and opportunities
  • Drive senior customers relationships
  • Qualifications and skills

  • Extensive background in sales, preferably within the FMCG(H) industry
  • Compelling track record in strategic thinking, strategy design and execution, and negotiations
  • Effective fair and transparent communication and leadership style
  • Prior experience as a people manager, preferably in a multi-country setting and fast-paced, changing environment
  • Relevant experience in shopper & customer marketing, sales-, brand management and e-commerce
  • Deep understanding of the Pharmacy, Grocery, Drugstore, Low End Retail & Online marketplace
  • Extensive experience with leading complex Annual Negotiations within a demanding retail environment
  • Deep understanding and insight into Category Management principles, well experienced with Sales & Forecasting processes and tools
  • Senior business commercial knowledge and market understanding in FMCG(H) to provide leadership of accounts both internally and externally.
  • Fluency in English and French or Dutch - French being a critical asset given the Benelux diversity of languages and configuration
