    The Role

    We are on the lookout for skilled professionals in our CFO Consulting team, individuals eager to advance their careers by aiding clients in aspects of accounting and regulatory reporting, specific accounting technical matters, financial and business controlling, financial planning and analysis, and cost management. Through end-to-end support and nurturing EY talent, we play a critical role in shaping the future of finance within the Financial Services sector. This position puts you at the forefront of delivering projects that tackle the most significant challenges faced by CFOs.

    Main Responsibilities

    As a Senior Consultant, your role involves collaborating with clients to comprehend their business challenges and assisting in the implementation of tailored solutions. Additionally, you will contribute to the growth of the competency team and EY as a whole.

    You will cater to key clients in the Financial Services sector, aiding them in meeting stakeholder expectations concerning financial, regulatory, and management reporting in terms of content, compliance, efficiency, quality, and controls. This role presents an opportunity to drive tangible change within EY CFO Consulting amidst a period of exciting growth, fostering trust in a changing economic and regulatory landscape.

    Here are some examples of how you will elevate our client's finance department:

    • Enhancing the closing, consolidation, and reporting cycle
    • Managing the reporting and consolidation processes with temporary support
    • Optimizing the decision-making process by improving budgeting and forecasting processes
    • Aiding in the adoption of new standards
    • Conducting analyses on accounting figures, management, and regulatory reporting
    • Offering technical guidance for ad-hoc queries from both clients and internal staff as necessary

    Skills and Qualities for Success

    • Master's degree in a relevant field (e.g., applied economics, commercial engineering) or equivalent experience
    • 2 to 5 years of relevant experience in financial (Belgian Gaap / IFRS), regulatory (CoRep/FinRep/RRP/Solvency II), or management reporting in Banking and/or Insurance
    • Knowledge of USGAAP, CRR, and/or IFRS 9/17 is advantageous
    • Strong analytical skills with a keen eye for detail
    • Effective communication and presentation skills, both written and verbal
    • Ability to simplify complex topics for a wide audience
    • Proficiency in business English and fluency in Dutch/French
    • Entrepreneurial spirit and willingness to take on challenges
    • Positive mentality and ability to engage with individuals at all levels within an organization
    • Passion for numbers coupled with a recognition of the value of teamwork
