The Giant Knows It All

He was resting. In peace. His clouds were serving him. Blowing fresh wind into his nose whenever he desired it. Now and then he called upon the sun to get some warmth. The snow was cool but not always. Balance is good for the soul. The colours around him made him wonder how beautiful the world really is when you are living in the moment and focus on what is really there. His age was unknown by the people who discovered him, but that was okay. His birthday went on unnoticed but he learned to live with it. Humble giant who mastered his time so well.

During the years he observed and learned many things. He could fill 1001 libraries with books covering all knowledge. And then so much more. He just accepted his gift. Was proud to have received it. Some people tried to climb on his head. Only a few succeeded, others had to turn back on their original path. He saw with his own wise eyes how enduring people are. When they really want to achieve something. That is key. He was a student and master at the same time. When some magic force would turn him into a human being he would follow the role models he had seen all his life.

A human being is rather small in his eyes. Tiny little things from his angle. Like ants there are so many of them. They also look so similar, but as a wise mountain he realised that there must be a lot of differences between them. Or are all people the same? No, that could not be the purpose of life. What sense does it make to make copies all over the globe? No, there must be a defining factor that makes one individual really who he is. The mountain kept on reflecting on the topic. The landscape was patient for the outcome. 

He never compared himself to other mountains. That was just not among his habits. He was never shown this behaviour so he did not had to do that, consciously or not. He was told that there were other mountains. They each had their own story. Magnificent ones for sure. But he never felt threatened by them. They were welcome to visit them and exchange big thoughts. That would be awesome. Maybe one day they could all do that. You never know. No comparison needed, meant that he could be himself. Just be. Who he was. Bottom top, top bottom.

Sometimes he read in the clouds that people sometimes tend to compare themselves to others and he noticed how that made them feel. A choice? Well people could think that they had to follow that habit. When they don't know better. The mountain would love to give them a big hug and whisper with his marble voice that honestly it does not really matter. He would continue to say that we all are a gift to the world and to each other as long as we are true to ourselves. That is where we are at our best. That is where we make a difference to ourselves and thus to our external world.

The mountain smiled. If only one human being would take the effort to climb his top to listen to his insights, he or she could write books full of wise jewels. Till infinity. If only ... one person had the courage to do so, his deep wish would come true. Leaving a legacy as the writing mountain. No other mountain ever had that dream and that was okay, as they are all allowed to dream their individual dreams. He admitted that he already saw his vision coming alive. That one person was approaching his top step by step and the mountain was ready for it. The giant knows it all ...
