The Rose And The Ring

Life is good. It is what it is. She was on holidays. Her hotel room had the most breathtaking view. The wide ocean was closer as never before. Here she felt home. She listened carefully to the sound of nature. She arrived yesterday evening. A year full of changes. She finally turned the pages. Time to relax and take very well care of herself. The room was designed with elegance. A red rose on a table. Early morning. She just ordered breakfast. The other hotel guests were still sleeping. Silence around her. Her luggage was not touched yet. She stretched her legs and smiled in an adorable way. She felt really good and attractive. Deliciously independent. She looked forward to a tasty breakfast. A perfect way to start an awesome day.

A gentle knock on the hotel room door. The breakfast must be ready. Joyfully she went to the door and opened it, expecting to receive a tasty morning plate. Boiled eggs, slices of bread, black coffee and fresh pineapple juice. No breakfast yet. Nobody behind the door. She looked around her. Then she saw a small red box on the floor. A beautiful present. She adored presents. Always. Forever. She took the small box and entered her room again. Her fingers touched the box slowly to discover what was inside. The box felt soft as silk. She had no clue at all what it could be. The name of a jewel store was written on the box. A jewel? Impossible! She unwrapped the present. Curiosity. A stunning golden ring appeared. In the ring she saw a name and a date.

7.7.2017. That is next year. What could that mean? She did not understand it. A mystery. That name. She looked for other signs to reveal the secret. She was not so fond of jewels but this ring was just magnificent. When she looked at the rose she saw a card. She decided to check if there was a name on the card. She could not believe it. The name written inside the ring, was also mentioned on the card. So many questions. The sun was present. A morning in summer. Excitement in the air. A second knock on the door. The ordered breakfast? She opened the door again. She looked into the most attractive eyes she ever had seen. She was speechless. The alarm clock went off. She was awake. To her big surprise, she saw a red rose and a ring on the night table ... and two glasses of sprankling champagne ...
