    Proximus Group consists of the mother company Proximus SA and a growing network of subsidiary companies in the telecom and IT sectors, active in the Benelux and various other countries.

    The Finance Shared Service Center (SSC) provides financial services to 5 affiliates of Proximus active in the ICT business.

    The Finance operations lead will act as a key-accountant and will be accounting wise in charge of multiple affiliates which are under SSC scope. He or she will be responsible for managing the day-to-day operations in ensuring accurate, timely and compliant processing of the financial transactions under SSC scope. This role reports to the SSC Finance Lead.

    Responsibilities

  • Oversee and manage the day-to-day operations of the Finance SSC, including Purchase to Pay, Order to Cash and Record to Report activities like general ledger accounting, financial reporting, Treasury, VAT and Tax
  • Ensure financial transactions are processed accurately and in a timely manner, ensuring compliance with all relevant policies, procedures, and regulations
  • Ensure financial transactions are processed in meeting agreed-upon service level agreements (SLAs) and key performance indicators (KPIs)
  • Lead to completion the month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes, including preparation of financial statements, account reconciliations, and variance analysis, ensuring accuracy and completeness of financial data
  • Manage the team of accountants in charge of executing the financial transactions under SSC scope. Manage and plan their daily activities. Perform needed controls to ensure zero default execution. Define and appraise yearly objectives realization. Ensure their personal development and training
  • Coordinate internal and external audit works, providing documentation and explanations as needed, and addressing audit findings and recommendations
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders, including finance teams from the client entities, to resolve issues and address inquiries
  • Communicate regularly and proactively with business stakeholders to understand their accounting needs and provide timely, accurate financial information and analysis
  • Continuously identify opportunities to streamline processes, improve efficiency, and enhance controls within the area of responsibility
  • Stay up-to-date with changes in accounting and VAT regulations and best practices in finance operations, and apply knowledge to ensure compliance and drive continuous improvement
  • Support special projects and initiatives as assigned by management.

    • Profile

  • Bachelor degree in Accounting
  • At least 5 years' experience in a similar function for an international company (corporate)
  • Belgium GAAP, Tax and VAT knowledge
  • IFRS knowledge is a plus
  • Dutch native & fluent English
  • IT literate (Excel) and ERP experience. Process and systems focus. Identifies ways to improve the accounting processes. Continually seeks more efficient methods of working

    • We are looking for an accountant who has experienced all aspects of subledger accounting AP/AR and has a strong GL experience. This person has a first experience of managing an accounting team. The function has approx. 4 direct reports and it is expected to increase with new affiliates joining the SSC.
